 Ohio Typology of School Districts

 Type 8 Urban had the lowest mean grade (21.6), the lowest median (24.6), the lowest minimum (5.0) and the lowest maximum grade (44.2).  On the other hand, Type 2 Rural had the highest mean grade and the highest median grade (43.0), while Type 1 Rural had the highest minimum grade (17). Type 4 Small town had the highest maximum (92.8). The difference based on typology is statistically significant. (p=.000). 100% of Type 8 Schools were F.  Type 2: Rural - Average Student Poverty & Very Small Student Population had the lowest percentage of schools with “F” (87.9%). Type 4: Small Town - High Student Poverty & Average Student Population Size had the highest percentage (3.3%) of A/B.
