In every society teachers are of the most important of all persons. No matter how great the adult or their achievement, that person was taught by someone.  In January of 2018, RJN! Director, had the unique opportunity of delivering a culturally relevant curriculum workshop to Howard County, Maryland teachers. The workshop was attended by educators of all subjects from across the school district.

Teachers were wowed by a historical education timeline that documented the effect, importance and presence of culture in education and guided through RJN!’s Culturally Relevant Toolkit.

One attendee wrote about the workshop, “We need to make kids of color visible in their education. This workshop begins to scratch the surface on explaining why things are structured in a bias, unequal manner. Learn how to make kids of color visible in their educational experience. Brainwaves and brain growth from classical music and rap music are similar. Curriculum can be culturally relevant and rich. This workshop will give you tools to start the transformation.”
