Despite continual gains in education, the school-to-prison pipeline is a systemic problem that disproportionately impacts Black youth. But it can be prevented. We believe we can make a difference by:
– Eradicating zero tolerance policies for minor infractions
– Limiting police officers’ interactions with students in and around schools
– Promoting culturally relevant curricula and culturally responsive schools
– Emotional Emancipation Circles, which are community defined self-help support groups designed to help heal and end the trauma caused by anti-Black racism
